3.1 Applicable Conditions and Test Equipment
3.1.1 The single-ring infiltration test in trial pits is suitable for non-cohesive soil layers such as sand, sandy gravel, and gravelly soils located above the groundwater table.

3.2 Field Testing
3.2.1 The trial pit excavation shall meet the following requirements:
1 1. At the selected test location, excavate a circular or square test pit to the predetermined depth;
2 , Dig another deep one on one side at the bottom of the test pit 15–20 cm Fill the test pit with water, ensuring the pit bottom is leveled and that the structure of the test soil layer remains undisturbed.
3.2.2 The installation of the iron ring shall comply with the following requirements:
1 1. Place an iron ring inside the water-filled test pit, ensuring it makes tight contact with the pit; then seal the exterior thoroughly with clay to prevent any leaks around the sides.
