Overview

The depth of pavement texture is an indicator used to characterize pavement roughness. In the past, China relied on the manual sand‑pouring method to measure this depth. Although the method is simple, it suffers from significant human error and lacks standardized operational procedures, making it no longer adequate to meet the testing needs of China’s road authorities. Since the Ninth Five‑Year Plan, China’s expressways have entered a phase of intensive construction, and the Ministry of Transport’s “Highway…”

The “Field Testing Procedures for Roadbed and Pavement” specifies the testing content and promotes the use of electric sand spreaders to meet the needs for quality inspection methods that comply with advanced highway pavement engineering standards.

This instrument has been improved to address numerous shortcomings based on China’s actual conditions, resulting in the production of an intelligent electric sand spreader.

The electric sand spreading device consists of a sand hopper, a frame, a scale, a micro-motor, and a control operator. The standard accessories for the electric sand spreading device include a calibration glass plate, a standard sand measuring cylinder, a brush, and more.
