  • Product Describe
  • The SYD-0653 Emulsified Asphalt Particle Charge Tester is used to determine the charge characteristics of particles in various types of emulsified asphalt—specifically, whether they carry positive or negative ions. It also measures the content of residue remaining on the sieve for each type of emulsified asphalt, thereby assessing the quality of the asphalt emulsion.

Product features: Automatically controlled digital display for time setting, with automatic stop upon completion of the test.

    Technical specifications:

    1. Power supply voltage: DC 6V

    2. Higher Output Load: 30mA
    3. Timing accuracy: 0.1 second
    4. Timer set for 3 minutes
    5. Power supply voltage: 220V
    6. External Dimensions: 300 x 200 x 300 mm
    7. Weight: 10KG
    8. Power: 200W
    9. Ambient temperature: 5–40°C
    10. Ambient humidity: ≤85%

    11. Electrode plate dimensions: Length 100 mm, Width 10 mm, Thickness 1 mm

    How to use:

    1. First, connect the power cord and electrode leads. Make sure the notches on the plug and socket align properly—insert the red plug into the red socket and the black plug into the black socket.

    2. Filter the emulsified asphalt sample through a 1.18-mm sieve and transfer it into a container.
    3. Loosen the locking nut of the lifting frame, lift the frame, and place the beaker into the base.
    4. Pour the filtered emulsified sample into a beaker to about 200 ml, lower the lifting mechanism, and position the electrode plate so that it is immersed in the emulsified asphalt by approximately 30 mm.
    5. Turn on the power switch and press the timer button; you’ll see the LED light above the button illuminate, indicating that the timer has entered working mode with a 3-minute countdown.
    6. When the light tube goes out, it indicates that electrode plate charging has completed. You can then lift the lifting mechanism and carefully examine the electrode plates (the red plug represents the positive electrode, while the black plug is the negative electrode). If a large number of asphalt particles adhere to the negative electrode plate, it means the asphalt particles carry a positive charge, indicating that the emulsion is cationic. Conversely, if numerous asphalt particles are attracted to the positive electrode plate, it suggests the particles have a negative charge, classifying the emulsion as anionic.

    7. After the experiment, if you need to clean the electrode plates, simply lift the lifting mechanism, loosen the set screws on the conductive posts, and then remove the electrode plates.
