  • The static load testing instrument is designed and manufactured in accordance with GB/T328.25-2007 “Test Methods for Building Waterproofing Roll Materials – Part 25: Static Load Resistance of Asphalt and Polymer Waterproofing Roll Materials.” It is suitable for evaluating the puncture or impact resistance of asphalt and polymer waterproofing roll materials, as well as other types of waterproofing roll materials, after they have been subjected to static loads. This instrument features a simple structure and convenient operation.

    Main Technical Parameters

    1. Stainless steel spherical piercing tool: (Φ10 ± 0.05) mm; Hardness: HRC 50

    3. Load pan weight: 1 unit at 3 kg; 3 units at 5 kg

    Working stroke of the spherical puncture tool: 40 mm ± 2

    The static load testing instrument is suitable for evaluating the puncture or impact resistance of asphalt and polymer waterproofing membranes, as well as other types of waterproofing membranes, after they have been subjected to static loading.

    How to Use the Static Load Testing Instrument:

    1. The sample is secured to the frame with nails and then placed on the support, with the inner dimensions of the frame measuring approximately 500 mm by 500 mm. The support is made of expanded polystyrene with a density of (20 ± 2) kg/m³ and a thickness of (50 ± 1) mm. The test specimen measures (550 mm by 550 mm) ± 2 mm, and samples are taken across the entire width of the roll, excluding the 100 mm edge. For each load condition, three specimens must be tested.

    2. The experiment must be conducted at (23 ± 2)°C. For each different load interval, a new test specimen shall be used, with the specimen placed on a horizontal support, top surface facing upward. The puncture tool shall be positioned at the center of the specimen.

    3. For each load increment starting from 5 kg, three test specimens shall be tested in parallel. The load shall be increased by 5 kg each time until puncture occurs, and the testing shall continue until the load reaches 20 kg. Each load increment shall be held for 24 hours. Care must be taken during loading to avoid any vibrations.

    4. The static load resistance is determined by testing three parallel specimens according to the prescribed method; all three must pass, indicating that the flexible roofing membrane and waterproofing materials exhibit no leakage under the specified load.
