Select the desired center height of the standard rod. Place one end of the standard rod (as shown in the structural diagram) against the groove in the positioning column, ensuring that the bottom surface of the standard rod’s support rests tightly against the reference plane of the base. Then, slowly push the other end of the standard rod into the central portion of the instrument.

Loosen the set screw, then slowly insert the dial indicator into the hole of the adjustable column you’ve selected, ensuring that the dial indicator’s measuring tip is in contact with the right end of the standard rod. Next, tighten the set screw to secure the dial indicator on the instrument. Record the reading on the dial indicator at this point.
3. The placement method for concrete test specimens is the same as in 1.
4. The fabrication, curing, and shrinkage and expansion tests of concrete specimens shall be conducted in accordance with relevant standards such as GBJ82–85. Notes on the Concrete Shrinkage and Expansion Tester: 1. The concrete shrinkage and expansion tester should be placed on a level workbench, with its four feet bearing an even load. Avoid relying on only three points of support to prevent deformation of the instrument, which could compromise its accuracy.
2. The standard rod is the reference length unit for the instrument and must be handled with care to prevent deformation.
3. The dial indicator is a precision instrument; when placing or removing the test specimen, handle it gently and with care, and avoid any impact to the indicator stand or the indicator stem.
4. After each use, apply a small amount of lubricating oil to the surfaces of non-painted components, and apply instrument oil to the moving parts of the dial indicator.
5. In environments with high dust concentrations or when equipment is idle for extended periods, dust prevention measures should be implemented.
