    The electric lime soil unconfined compression tester, strain-type unconfined compression tester, and lime soil press are used to determine the axial pressure applied to saturated soft clay under unconfined lateral conditions until the sample fails, in order to obtain the soil's unconfined compressive strength. Additionally, the unconfined compressive strength test is used to determine the soil's sensitivity (sensitivity is the ratio of the unconfined compressive strength of the undisturbed soil to that of the remolded soil maintaining natural moisture content).
    This product has a built-in micro printer that can print data stream lists and test results.

    Main Features

    Test Method

    1. Place the undisturbed soil on the table according to the natural layering direction. Use a soil cutting knife or steel saw to cut a soil column larger than the sample diameter, place it between the upper and lower plates of the soil cutting disk, then carefully cut along the side plate from top to bottom while rotating the disk until the required size is reached. Remove the sample, trim both ends to the required height, ensuring the end faces are flat and perpendicular to the sides, and uniform on top and bottom. If the specimen surface has voids due to lime or other impurities, soil filling is allowed.
    2. The specimen diameter and height should be the same as the remolding cylinder's diameter and height; the remolding cylinder diameter is 40mm and height is 100mm.
    3. Use calipers to measure the height and diameters at the top, middle, and bottom of the cut specimen, then calculate the average diameter DP using the formula:
    DP = (D1 + 2D2 + D3) / 4
    Where: DP = average specimen diameter in centimeters; D1, D2, D3 = diameters at the top, middle, and bottom of the specimen (cm).
    4. Apply a thin layer of vaseline to both ends of the specimen; if moisture evaporation occurs, apply a layer of vaseline to the specimen's side.
    5. Place the specimen on the unconfined compression tester's pressure plate, press the up button until it just contacts the upper pressure plate, then stop. Ensure the displacement meter contacts the lower top plate, rotate the screw on the top plate until the displacement meter shows a reading, click to zero the pressure and displacement, then start the test. After the test, remove the specimen and describe the failure condition.

    Operating Procedures

    1. Place the undisturbed soil on the table according to the natural layering direction. Use a soil cutting knife or wire saw to cut a soil column slightly larger than the sample diameter and height, place it between the upper and lower trays of the soil cutting disk, then carefully cut the required diameter and specified height along the side plate from top to bottom with the wire saw or soil cutting knife. Both ends should be trimmed flat and perpendicular to the sides, uniform on top and bottom. Immediately weigh the sample and measure the moisture content of the trimmed soil.
    2. Apply a thin layer of vaseline to both ends and the sides of the specimen, place it in the center of the pressure plate, press the up button until the specimen just contacts the upper pressure plate, press the zero button, then start the test. The motor advances the pressure plate at 2.4mm per minute until the soil sample fails. Record the displacement reading and calculate the axial stress.

    Maintenance and Precautions

    1. After use, wipe the instrument clean and apply a thin layer of grease to prevent rust.
    2. Pay attention to the maintenance of the pressure sensor and displacement sensor.
