T 0713-2000 Uniaxial Compression Test for Asphalt Mixtures (Cylinder Method)
1 Purpose and Scope of Application
1.1 This method is applicable to the determination of the compressive resilient modulus and compressive strength of hot-mix asphalt mixtures. When determining the design parameters for asphalt mixture structural layers in accordance with the Highway Asphalt Pavement Design Specifications (JTG D50-2006), this method shall be followed. Unless otherwise specified, the standard test temperature for the compressive resilient modulus used in calculating deflections shall be 20°C, while the standard test temperature for the compressive resilient modulus used in verifying flexural tensile stress shall be 15°C. The loading rate shall be 2 mm/min.
1.2 This method is applicable to cylindrical asphalt mixture specimens with a diameter of 100 mm ± 2.0 mm and a height of 100 mm ± 2.0 mm.
