  • Product Describe
  • The SYD-0653 Emulsified Asphalt Micro-particle Charge Tester is used to determine the charge characteristics of micro-particles in various emulsified asphalts—that is, the types of cations and anions—and to measure the content of residue remaining on the sieve for different emulsified asphalts, thereby assessing the quality of asphalt emulsions.

Product features: Automatically controls and displays the time digitally, and automatically stops the test once it’s completed.

    Technical specifications:

    1. Power supply voltage: DC 6V

    2. Larger output load: 30mA
    3. Timing accuracy: 0.1 second
    4. Timer setting: 3 minutes
    5. Power supply voltage: 220V
    6. External dimensions: 300 x 200 x 300 mm
    7. Weight: 10 kg
    8. Power: 200W
    9. Ambient temperature: 5–40℃
    10. Ambient humidity: ≤85%

    11. Electrode plate dimensions: Length 100 mm, width 10 mm, thickness 1 mm.

    How to use:

    1. First, connect the power cord and the electrode cables. Please note that the notches on the plug and socket must align properly: Insert the red plug into the red socket and the black plug into the black socket.

    2. Filter the emulsified asphalt sample through a 1.18-mesh sieve and collect it in a container.
    3. Loosen the locking nut on the lifting frame, lift the lifting frame, and place the beaker into the base.
    4. Pour approximately 200 ml of the filtered emulsified sample into a beaker, lower the lifting frame, and insert the electrode plates into the emulsified asphalt to a depth of about 30 mm.
    5. Turn on the power switch and press the timer button. You’ll see the LED light above the button illuminate, indicating that the timer has entered working mode with a 3-minute countdown.
    6. When the light-emitting tube goes out, it indicates that the electrode plate charging process is complete. You can then lift the lifting frame and carefully examine the electrode plates (the red plug is the positive electrode, and the black plug is the negative electrode). If a large number of asphalt particles are adhering to the negative electrode plate, it means these asphalt particles carry a positive charge, indicating that the emulsion is cationic. Conversely, if a large number of asphalt particles are adsorbed onto the positive electrode plate, it means these asphalt particles carry a negative charge, indicating that the emulsion is anionic.

    7. After the test is completed, if you need to clean the electrode plates, lift the lifting frame, loosen the set screws on the conductive posts, and then remove the electrode plates.
