Working Principle of the Single-Drum Horizontal Shaft Concrete Mixing Mechanism

This machine consists of a frame, a stirring mechanism, a transmission system, limit devices, and an electrical control system.

The frame serves as the supporting structure for the entire equipment and is fabricated by welding channel sections. The mixing assembly consists of a mixing drum, a mixing shaft, and mixing blades. The mixing blades are securely mounted on the mixing arms and integrated with the mixing shaft to form two sets of helical mixing blades that have opposite helix directions but identical lead and helix angle. The clearance between the mixing blades and the inner wall of the mixing drum can be finely adjusted.

The transmission mechanism consists of a reducer and a coupling, while the cylinder limiting device comprises a locking pin and positioning holes. The electrical control system features start, jog, stop, and timing functions.

Operating principle: The geared motor drives the agitator shaft to rotate in one direction via a coupling. Two sets of forward- and reverse-facing paddles mounted on the shaft agitate the material. Due to the helical lead angle, as the paddles operate, they push the material from one side of the mixing chamber to the other and then back again, creating a continuous circulation that ensures thorough mixing and achieves the desired blending effect.

During unloading, the machine must be stopped, the locking pin released to rotate the drum through a specified angle, then re-locked in place. Finally, press the jog button to discharge the mixed material from the drum.

After unpacking the equipment, inspect the geared motor, mixing drum, bearing housing, and other components for any damage sustained during transportation, and check all fasteners for looseness. If any are loose, tighten them immediately. The supporting foundation must be a level concrete floor. When moving the mixer, secure it with ropes tied to the frame—never loop the ropes around the mixing shaft. The mixer base is equipped with casters, allowing it to be moved freely.

Operating Procedures

1. Before starting, first inspect the rotating parts and the料筒 for any rubbing or collision; if such contact is found, make timely adjustments.

2. Clean out any debris from the料筒.

3. The cylinder limit switch must be engaged before starting.

4. The rotation direction of the agitator shaft shall be as indicated by the markings on the end face of the cylinder.

5. Concrete materials loaded into the mixer must be free of metal or other foreign objects.

6. Adjust the mixer’s timer according to the mixing time; note that adjustments must be made with the power disconnected.

7. Press the start button, and the spindle will drive the mixing paddle to rotate.

8. Automatically shuts down upon reaching the set time.

9. When discharging the material, first stop the machine, release the locking pin, operate the handle to rotate the mixing drum to a designated position, then engage the locking pin to lock the rotating shaft, thereby allowing the mixed material to be discharged from the drum.

10. After the mixing material has been completely discharged, manually return the drum to its original position and secure the mixing drum using the locking pin.

11. To clean the料筒, water can be poured into it and the main shaft rotated to flush it out; alternatively, dry sand can be used for cleaning.

Maintenance and Repair of Single-Shaft Concrete Mixers, Mortar Mixers, and Forced-Action Concrete Mixers

1. Lubricate bearing components regularly according to operating conditions; refer to the gearbox manufacturer’s instruction manual for lubrication guidelines.

2. Regularly inspect the machine’s seals, and promptly check the condition of the sealing gaskets if any slurry leakage is detected.

3. Regularly inspect the fastening of the scraper blades and tighten them promptly if any loosening is detected.

4. Regularly inspect the electrical control system to ensure good contact and dry conditions.

5. After prolonged use, the blades and mixing drum of the mixer will wear down; adjust or replace them as necessary based on the degree of wear.

6. During mixing, do not insert your hands or any objects into the mixing drum to avoid accidents.
